Valencian Judoka Ariela Sanchez Wins Gold at the European Open in Hungary

This weekend, the European Open in Györ, Hungary, certified a new success for Valencian judo. After the silver achieved by Salva Cases last week in the Portuguese Grand Prix, this weekend it was the turn of Ariela Sanchez after an outstanding participation in the Hungarian Open.

The Dominican judoka, representative of the Valencian Judo Federation, won the gold medal in Györ, confirming a title that certifies her great sporting presence. Ariela defeated the Polish Natalia Kropska in the decisive match to climb to the top of the European podium.

In the semifinals, she defeated the Belgian Alessia Corrao while in the quarterfinals she beat the Ukrainian Yuliia Hrebenozhko. Previously, in the preliminary phase, she began her path to the title with victories against Adel Kelemen (Hungary) and Anastasiia Antipina (Ukraine).
