Ugo Humbert new French number one in the ATP rankings

Winner on Sunday of the fifth title of his career in Marseille (ATP 250) in as many finals contested, against the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, Ugo Humbert gained, as expected, three places in the ATP ranking published this Monday. The twenty-five-year-old Messin climbs to 18th place (the highest of his career so far) and at the same time steals the French number one place in the ranking from Adrian Mannarino – eliminated in the semi-finals in Dallas -, who slipped two places (19th).

Two French people in the top 20? We haven’t seen this since February 2020. Gaël Monfils was then 9th, Benoît Paire 20th. On the French side also in the top 100, Hugo Gaston (82nd) rose four places, Arthur Rinderknech five (89th).

The top 10 has not changed, still dominated by Novak Djokovic (9,855 points), Carlos Alcaraz (9,255) and Daniil Medvedev (8,765). Winner for his part in Dallas, the American Tommy Paul is now 14th (+1) ahead of his compatriots Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton, and the Russian Karen Khachanov (17th, +1). Briton Cameron Norrie, who closes the Top 20, lost one place.

Further down the rankings, the American Marcos Giron, beaten by Tommy Paul in the final in Dallas, jumped 15 places and took 52nd place in the world. Winner in Cordoba (ATP 250), the Italian Luciano Darderi does even better, since he is propelled to 76th place (+60), the best ranking of his career at 21 years old.
