Trubisky Cut by Pittsburgh Steelers After Two Disappointing Seasons

He didn’t give the width. Mitchell Trubisky was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers this Monday after two seasons in Pennsylvania where his time was with more pain than glory.

The second overall pick in the 2017 draft signed with the Steelers in 2022 and quickly took the starting job over the rookie Kenny Pickett to start the season. However, Trubisky struggled in his first month with the team and was benched midway through the Week 4 game that year.

In 2023 he had a new opportunity to start after Pickett suffered a sprained ankle against the Arizona CardinalsHowever, he struggled again and was benched again, this time for Mason Rudolph.

During the two seasons that Trubisky dressed in black and gold, he started seven games in which he finished with a 2-5 record. He completed 64.1% of his passes for 1,884 yards, eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He added 35 carries for 92 yards and four touchdowns.
