Tricolori Indoor 2024: Italian Archery Championship Makes History in Pordenone

PORDENONE – For the first time in Pordenone, the 51st edition of the Tricolori Indoor 2024 “Memorial Giggi Cartoni” took place over the weekend. There were over 1,300 participants in the three divisions (recurve, naked and compound bow) who took turns on the double shooting line of the Friulian fair, in the four days of competitions (from Thursday to Sunday). 21 regional clubs were present (out of a total of 282) and many podiums were achieved, both in class and overall.

KNOT ARCH

Class – All second places in the individual: in the senior men’s Giuseppe Seimandi (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri delle Alpi), 544 points; in the men’s masters Ferruccio Berti (Arcieri di Volpiano), 536 points; Elisa Medico (Arcieri delle Alpi), female with 513 points; Adriano Rizzo (Arcieri Conte Rosso) among the men’s boys, 470 points.

In the teams: double bronze for the Arcieri delle Alpi (Seimandi, Morra, Maestri) in the senior men’s and in the women’s masters (Medico, Pavan, Barella). Italian title instead for the Varian Archers (Bussetto, Scapinello, Kaede) in the women’s juniors.

Overall – In the men’s individual Giuseppe Seimandi (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri delle Alpi) confirms second place, losing 2-6 in the final at the hands of Simone Barbieri. Bronze medal instead for Elisa Medico (Arcieri delle Alpi) who won with a clear 6-0 in the final against Sara Siliani.

Third overall Italian team title in a row for the Arcieri delle Alpi (Medico, Pavan, Giordano) won in the playoff (27-24) against the Arcieri Altopiano Pinè.

ARCO COMPOUND

Class – Senior men’s class title for Marco Bruno (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri Iuvenilia), 592 points; third place for Irene Franchini (Fiamme Azzurre/Arcieri delle Alpi) in the women’s category, 583 points. Fabrizio Aloisi (Arcieri Iuvenilia) triumphs among the junior men, 589 points; in the women’s competition, victory (tie) for Giulia Di Nardo (Arcieri delle Alpi), 574 points. In the male students, third position for Christian Messina (Arcieri Langhe and Roero), 564 points.

In the teams: class title for the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Morello, Bruno, Depaoli), in the senior men ahead of the Arcieri delle Alpi (Bonacina, Vieceli, Costantino). Silver for the Alpignano Archers (Tosco, Cancelli, Frassati) in the men’s masters; for women, third position for the Arcieri delle Alpi (Botto, Giudice, Di Michele). In the men’s juniors, victory for the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Aloisi, Alfieri, Corgiat Loia); for women, second place for the Langhe and Roero Archers (Messina, Manfredi, Dutto).

Overall – In the individual, first Italian men’s title for Fabrizio Aloisi (Arcieri Iuvenilia), winning 147-144 over Valerio Della Stua. Her sister, Francesca Aloisi (Arcieri Iuvenilia) stops at the foot of the podium, stopped in the final for bronze (144-145) by the fresh winner of the Indoor World Cup Elisa Roner.

In the men’s teams, Piedmontese derby for third place: the winners are the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Morello, Bruno, Aloisi) who prevail 234-226 over the Arcieri delle Alpi (Bonacina, Costantino, Vieceli).

RECURVED BOW

Class – Double among the women’s masters with the first position of Anna Botto (Arcieri delle Alpi), 553 points, and the second place of Gabriella Sasia (Arcieri dell’Elice), 551 points. Silver for Beatrice Streri (Arcclub Fossano), 545 points, in the women’s category.

Among the teams: second place for the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Morello, Paoli, Zagami) in the senior men’s category; double podium for the women with the first position of the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Andreoli, Rolando, Degani) and the third place of the Arcieri delle Alpi (Mijno, Marotta, Lamprati).

Silver for the Arcieri delle Alpi (Marengo, Rovera, Botto) in the men’s masters and bronze, again for the Arcieri delle Alpi (Bogetti, Dezani, Roppa), in the men’s juniors. Italian title for male students for Arcclub Fossano (Streri, Benedicenti, Fruttero). In the men’s category, bronze went to the Gruppo Arcieri Monregalesi (Di Pasqua, Bressano, Basciano).

Overall – In the women’s individual, after being the only Italian Paralympic archer to have won two consecutive Italian outdoor titles in 2022 and 2023, she becomes the second Paralympic athlete ever, after Paola Fantato, to win the women’s absolute indoor title in the recurve. Elisabetta Mijno (Arcieri delle Alpi), a few weeks after winning the gold in the indoor Para-Archery in Novara, did an encore by beating Loredana Spera in the final with a result of 6-0. Instead, Aiko Rolando (Fiamme Oro / Arcieri Iuvenilia) stops at the foot of the podium, 4-6 at the hands of Vanessa Landi.

An all-Turin derby in the women’s team final: the Arcieri Iuvenilia (Degani, Andreoli, Rolando) won their second consecutive title, beating the Arcieri delle Alpi (Mijno, Marotta, Botto) 6-2.

Among them were some athletes who, at the end of the event, immediately donned the blue jersey for Varadzin (Croatia) to compete in the European Indoor Championships scheduled to take place next week.
