Deprived of the left-back position after the departures this winter of Jaouen Hadjam to Young Boys Bern and Quentin Merlin to OM, FC Nantes obtained the signing of Nicolas Cozza from Wolfsburg in the final hours of the transfer window. The former Montpellier (25 years old) committed in the form of a loan without purchase option.
He joined the Wolves in January 2023 without succeeding in establishing himself there. He has only started three times this season in the Bundesliga for six appearances in total. Capable of playing in the center, he corresponds to the needs of the FCN, looking for a full-back with a more defensive profile than Merlin was.
In this position, the Canaries have long hoped to complete the arrival of Lensois Massadio Haïdara but they came up against the refusal of the blood and gold club to sell him without having first found a replacement. An agreement was also reached with Boavista for the transfer of Bruno Onyemaechi but the FCN ultimately gave up investing more than €3 million in the Nigerian, currently present at the CAN.
