Trae Young and Scottie Barnes Named Eastern Conference All-Stars by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver

Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks and Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors were named Eastern Conference All-Stars by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

The duo replaces Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers and Julius Randle of the New York Knicks, who will not be able to play in the All-Star Game due to injury.

For Young, it appeared to be the second season in a row that he did not make the All-Star team despite very strong stats on offense. This was criticized by LeBron James himself. 27.3 points and 10.9 assists per game earned Young the third nomination of his career.

Barnes is receiving the honor for the first time in his third season, the 22-year-old has made a huge leap and is filling the box score with averages of 20.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.5 blocks as a real all-rounder.

It is not yet known who will replace Embiid as the starter. Since the choice is positional, only Bam Adebayo from the Miami Heat or Paolo Banchero from the Orlando Magic are actually possible.
