The dominance of German tobogganers on the track in Oberhof has been broken. An Austrian doubles wins among men.

The German doubles Hannes Orlamünder/Paul Gubitz and Tobias Wendl/Tobias Arlt reached the podium at the home Luge World Cup in Oberhof.

The two sleds only had to admit defeat in second and third place to the Austrians Thomas Steu/Wolfgang Kindl, who won with two best times and a total travel time of 1:23.928 minutes.

The Thuringians Orlamünder/Gubitz were 0.123 seconds behind, Wendl/Arlt 0.190 seconds behind. The third German double, Moritz Jäger/Valentin Steudte, finished eleventh. In the overall World Cup, Steu/Kindl further extended their lead with their victory.
