The fourth day of swimming competitions at the World Championships in Doha offered a very rich menu peppered with medals for Italy.

Paltrinieri bronze in the 800

Good but not great, Greg: captain Paltrinieri is bronze medalist in the 800 freestyle in 7.42.98. Race won by the Irishman Wiffen over the Australian Winnington. The Italian, who was in the lead until the penultimate pool, was overtaken in the final, as mentioned, by the Irishman Daniel Wiffen, gold in 7.40.94, and the Australian Elijah Winnington, silver in 7.42.95. For Paltrinieri it is the ninth podium in the world championship in his career. The other Italian in the race, Luca De Tullio, finished in seventh position.

Martinenghi

Tete Martinenghi, after the silver in the 100m breaststroke, also won the silver in the 50m breaststroke (26.39) behind the Australian Williamson (26.32). Bronze for the American Fink (26.49). The other Italian Cerasuolo was only sixth.

Only Alessandro Miressi reaches the final of the 100 freestyle. His time (47.88) is second in the semifinals. The other Italian, Manuel Frigo, was eliminated with the ninth time (48.25).
