INTERVIEW – The captain of South Africa, world rugby champion, talks about his new life in France and his ambitions with Racing 92.

A wide smile permanently crosses his face. Siya Kolisi is a rugby player with an infectious joie de vivre. In the wake of the global double achieved by the Springboks at the last World Cup, the third row arrived at Racing 92. With one objective: to finally win a first title at club level, he who won everything with his national selection (winner of the World Cup in 2019 and 2023).

Pour Le Figaro, South Africa’s first black captain – a child from the township of Zwide, near Port Elizabeth, raised by his grandmother after his mother’s death while… ™he was 15 years old – spoke at length. With disarming sincerity.

HE IS COLLISION. – I feel really good! I’m super happy to see how things are going here at Racing. It’s never easy to arrive in a new place. But I tried from the start not to be shy, withdrawn, so I decided to stay myself…
