The Byers Prevail Physically in Dominating Victory Against Hermine de Nantes

In a match that promised to be complicated against one of the most talented teams in the championship. The Fos basketball players were able to assert themselves physically to win the match 83 to 58.

Never two without three ! The Byers recorded their third victory in a row against Hermine de Nantes. A game in which the Byers were very solid in defense against a team that had scored 110 points. They are no longer the red lantern of Pro B.

From the first five minutes, the Nantais will try to impose their game. But they are constantly caught up by the Byers of Jamar Diggs, very strong this evening. The latter will pass in front of the scoreboard for the first time in the 6th minute of play (13 to 12). Then, they took a little further lead to lead 17 to 12 before the timeout requested by Laurent Pluvy (Nantes coach). Solid behind what we are not used to seeing this season, they do not hesitate to punish the visitors’ blunders. At the end of the first quarter, they led 26 to 18 with a basket at the buzzer from Vincent Vent which made the spectators at the Parsemain sports hall stand up.

The Byers hit the nail on the head in the 2nd and 3rd quarters

A lead which will strengthen in the second quarter where Fos will drive the point home. A domination which was felt in the racket where the yellows performed much better than their opponents (26 points against only 10). At the break, the Byers lead 45/28.

Returning from the locker room, Fos got off to a bad start with two free throws missed by Matthieu Wojciechowski. But he was immediately caught up by Turner III’s three-pointer which gave him a 20-point lead at the start of the third quarter. The third quarter seems to start like the two previous ones with domination by the Byers, halfway through the quarter, they lead 54 to 33.

But little by little, they will run out of steam and make errors which will allow Nantes to tighten the lead at the end of the third quarter (65 to 54).

Only four points conceded by Fos in the last quarter

But the Byers will quickly tighten the screws in the last quarter, conceding only 4 points. A newfound solidity highlighted by Rémy Giutta at a press conference. “We finally have a team” remarked the coach, proud of the performance of his players.
