Club Atlètic Manresa has regretted the death of its athlete David Pérez Bruque of 18 yearsbecause of a leukemia. “With great sadness, the Club Atlètic Manresa family would like to inform you that today David’s light has gone out. We know how lucky we were to be able to share so many moments with him. As a good sprinter, he left quickly, discreetly and silent,” the club statement said.
David Pérez Bruque was born on March 1, 2005. “He has not been able to overcome the illness that has left us without him in less than a year,” according to the Manresa CA statement.

The club qualifies Pérez Bruque as “one of the best sprinters and tankers that the organization has had in its history” and values ”the footprint” that it has left on the organization and that, for this reason, “it will remain in the memory of all those who knew him, his sporting feats that they took him to climb the highest step on state and Catalan podiums”.
“It leaves us like the best athlete in the history of the club in the 400 meters and 500 meters on the indoor track, with records of 48”26 and 1’05”47, respectively, until less than a year ago”, explains CA Manresa in its statement, at the time that remembers “his magnificent 51”78 in the 400m hurdles and his extraordinary performance at the European Under 18 Championship held in Jerusalem in 2022″.
The Catalan Athletics Federation has also issued a statement regretting his death.
