The 17th Annual Badminton Tournament Organized by the Ton Bad Club in Spay

The Ton bad club in Spay organized its 17th badminton tournament on Saturday and Sunday. It is 100% doubles: men, women and mixed. It is a national level 2 tournament. The players come from Pays de la Loire, Normandy, the Paris and Tours regions. We even have one arriving from Mont-de-Marsan in Gironde,” appreciates Grégory Lasserre, the president.

A competition which requires the participation of around fifty volunteers to accommodate everyone over the two days.

On Saturday, the competitions started at 8 a.m. and ended at 10 p.m. This Sunday, reserved for mixed doubles, started at 8 a.m. and the last matches took place at 6:30 p.m.

To ensure the smooth running of this tournament, the duration of a match is estimated at 32 minutes. We guarantee each player to participate in a minimum of three matches in the tournament.

The Spayen club was born in 2000 and brings together 125 members divided into three thirds: young people, seniors and veterans. “One of our youngest girls is one of the best at the regional level. Team 1 plays in regional 1 and five others at the departmental interclub level. We have found the pre-Covid workforce,” explains Grégory Lasserre.
