In the first game between Daugavpils and “TalTech” in the biggest city of Latgale, the girls from Tallinn were superior with 3-0 (25:15, 25:13, 25:22), whereas today “SuFA club”/DU managed to recover after losing the first and third set and completely convincingly win the second and fourth. In the fifth set, however, “TalTech” proved its superiority in both skill and experience.
Marta Ozoliņa scored the lion’s share (27) of Daugavpils team’s points today, who ended five plays with a productive block. 12 points, including four blocks for Diana Vabiščeviča, ten points for Ieva Sauša, but Ieva Petrova earned a point less.
The Latgale team also lost to Tartu at the weekend. “Jelgava” volleyball players also lost to the team of the University of Turin in a three-set match. They are also 0-3 against “TalTech”.
In another match of the weekend, the team of “Rīga Stradiņa University” Sports Gymnasium” defeated the “Rīga Volleyball School” University” 3-1 (20:25, 28:26, 25:12, 25:19) in the derby of the capital’s strongest teams.
The RSU/MSĘ club had not beaten the RVS/LU team in ten Baltic League and Latvian championship games in a row, i.e. since February 5, 2020.
Agia Ankevics scored 19 points for the winners, but Katrina Struk finished one game less productively with four blocks.
In the ranks of RVS/LU, Anna Cepurītei scored 15 points, while Anete Čelnova collected 12 points.
