Syntainics MBC and Diante Baldwin have agreed on an early termination of the American’s contract, which is actually valid until the end of the season. The basketball Bundesliga team announced this on Monday (February 5, 2024).
The background is the return of power forward Vince Edwards to training, who was recently missing due to a broken finger. There are currently seven foreign professionals in the Weißenfels squad, of which only six can be used per game. The club justified the decision by simply not being able to finance it.
In terms of sport, Baldwin was certainly valuable for the “Wolves”. The 29-year-old playmaker initially came in August last year as a replacement for the injured Charles Callison on a temporary contract, which was later extended until the end of the season. In 22 competitive games in the Bundesliga and cup, he contributed an average of 12.3 points. Baldwin was also used in the MBC’s most recent 78:108 defeat against the Bamberg Baskets.
