Isabel Gose won the silver medal in the 800 meter freestyle at the World Swimming Championships in Qatar. Gose finished in 8:17.53 minutes – the new world champion Simona Quadarella from Italy was only nine hundredths faster. It was Gose’s third medal at this World Championship: she won bronze in the 400 and 1,500 meter freestyle.

“I’m so angry. I’ll never get a chance like that again. It’s just sad,” said Gose, despite the fact that she won the German team’s fifth medal at the World Championships: Angelina Köhler had gold in the 100 meter butterfly Lukas Märtens won bronze in the 400 meter freestyle.
