Swedish Midfielder Kristoffer Olsson Hospitalized on Ventilator: Club Announces

Swedish international Kristoffer Olsson of the Danish top club Midtjylland has been on a ventilator at the Aarhus University Hospital since last Tuesday, his club announced on Tuesday.

According to FC Midtjylland, the 28-year-old midfielder lost consciousness at home last week, after which he was taken to hospital. There he is on a ventilator. He is said to have been affected by an apparently acute brain disorder. A team of specialists is still working on a diagnosis so that the correct treatment can be initiated.

Olsson was on the Anderlecht payroll between July 2021 and July 2023. He played 48 matches for the Purple & White. After his first season in Brussels, he was loaned out for a year to Midtjylland, which took him over permanently last summer with a contract until mid-2026. This season he has already made twenty appearances for the club.

Olsson is also a 47-time Swedish international and was there twice in the European Championship qualifiers against the Red Devils. In March in Stockholm he was a starter, in the autumn of last year he was on the bench when the game in the King Baudouin Stadium was finally stopped at half-time after an attack against Swedish fans in Brussels.
