Success at the Sakura Judo Club: Italian Titles and Awards

Two Italian titles for the Sakura Judo Club of Arma di Taggia which, in the last weekend, brought two Junior athletes to the competition, Elisa Antellini and Maya Welcome to the absolutes held in Ostia, in the province of Rome.

The two girls faced the match with great determination, without being intimidated by the abilities of their opponents. Maya Benvenuto started the race first by completing a round robin and winning all the matches by ‘full ippon’, thus arriving on the top step of the podium.

Elisa Antellini found herself competing in a category made up of six athletes. Not at all intimidated either, she won all the matches, until she won the gold medal. Both were awarded the Italian champion diploma.

To crown a more than positive day, third place also came from Leonardo Dionisi, an athlete from a club from Rieti who stays in Arma di Taggia for work reasons, where he trains at Sakura. In a hard-fought category of eight athletes, he was able to emerge decisively, finishing in third place.

Now the preparation is aimed at facing the Italian Cup, a race for which the technicians Andrea Molinari and Manuela Ferrigno wish to bring their athletes to the maximum level of preparation. To top off the sporting day, at the end of the competition the federation awarded the technical teacher Maestro Andrea Molinari the 5th Dan black belt diploma in Ju Jitsu.
