From February 3 to 4, the regional youth badminton championship took place in Narbonne. This event brings together the best young people from the Occitanie region on the basis of the results obtained during the three stages of the regional youth circuit. For the occasion and for the first time in the history of the club, seven young people from Volant Salanquais qualified for these regional finals: Ruben Tessier, Arthur Scelles and Maxime Philippot as chicks, Jules Doreau and Victoire Scelles as youngest, Maelia Lobjeois and Julie Nonne in minimal.
At the end of a busy weekend, the young Salanquais were able to assess their progress and see the work remaining to be done. Among the youngest boys, Jules failed in the singles quarter-finals; Among the chicks, Ruben achieved the hat-trick by winning the singles, the men’s doubles associated with Lenzo Pastor (Gard) and the mixed associated with Lorna Seiler (Tarn).
