Spanish Basketball Stars to Watch in 2025 NBA Draft

He NBA Draft 2024 can be very prolific for Spanish basketball, but we cannot lose sight of 2025. Although there are still 16 months until it takes place, ESPN has begun to monitor the next world talents by publishing its predictions for the 2025 Draft.

According to Jonathan Givonny’s predictions, the top five positions have not changed compared to the sampling carried out a couple of months ago, which means that Hugo González remains in the Top-5:

  • Cooper Flag (Duke)
  • Ace Bailey (Rutgers)
  • Khaman Maluach (NBA Academy Africa)
  • Jalil Bethea (Miami)
  • Hugo Gonzalez (Real Madrid)
  • However, the presence of the Real Madrid player is not the only notable one on the list, where there are several more homegrown players from the Endesa League. Very close, in fact, is a teammate of Hugo González: the Russian Egor Deminwhich ESPN did a detailed profile during ANGT, appears in 9th position.

The young Croatian Michael Ruzica youth player for Joventut Badalona and with a leading role in the green and black team’s rotation this season, is placed as the 12th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

The last player with links to Liga Endesa is the former Casademont Zaragoza player Candidate Mara. After not having much prominence in his first season in the NCAA, ESPN places him as the 1st pick in the 2nd round next season. As a curiosity, eight places behind the Spanish center is LeBron James’ son, Bronny, who is also playing his first season at the university.
