Soudal Quick-Step wins the first stage, the yellow jersey for Jonathan Vervenne

The first stage of the Tour du Rwanda, which began with an 18.3 km team time trial, was won by the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team this Sunday, February 18 in Kigali. Led by the Belgian William Junior Lecerf, the team made up of five runners dominated its competitors without difficulty with a time of 20″32, ahead of the Israel-Premier Tech team of Chris Froome (21″08) and Lotto Dstny (21 “24). Jonathan Vervenne took the yellow jersey by crossing the finish line first in his formation, but the times of this opening stage will not be counted for the individual general classification.
