SK Sturm Graz’s Amadou Dante Transfers to FC Zurich with Purchase Option

SK Sturm Graz is giving up another defender in Amadou Dante. As the club announced on Thursday evening, the full-back is moving to FC Zurich.

Initially it will be loaned out, but the Swiss have also secured a purchase option for the summer.

The left defender moved to Graz in the summer of 2019, but was immediately loaned to TSV Hartberg for one season.

In the current season, Dante made eleven Bundesliga appearances, but often lost out to David Schnegg. He has made a total of 129 appearances for the “Blackies” so far. His resume also includes eight games for his home country of Mali.

Schicker: “Follow the desire for change”

Managing director of sports Andreas Schicker comments on the move: “For me personally, Amadou Dante was the first player I brought to SK Sturm. He developed excellently during his time at SK Sturm, became a team player for his country and has strong performances in the Bundesliga and also in our international games. After the autumn season, Amadou came to us with the wish for a change, which we have now complied with after good discussions with FC Zurich.

Amadou has always shown full commitment, has many virtues that perfectly embody the SK Sturm and has always shown an excellent attitude even in difficult situations. We wish Amadou all the best for his future endeavors!”
