The weekend of January 27 and 28, 2024, took place the Departmental Archery Championship in Sablé-sur-Sarthe. The shooters from Sillé-le-Guillaume returned from South Sarthe with many medals in their purse.
In senior recurve 1 men:
Aurélien Samson ranks 8th for his recovery after 5 years without shooting.
Dylan Geslin is 9th. This in no way reflects his performance this season, but it was not the day, especially in the morning for qualifying.
In Senior 2 men recurve bow:
Joan Geslin put on a great show in the duels and lost in the final to Louis David de Laigné-en-Belin after a superb duel.
So Joan Geslin is departmental vice-champion, silver medal.

In senior compound arch 2 men:
Sylvain Bodereau becomes departmental vice-champion with second place and reinforces the possibility of participating in the French Championship at the beginning of next March at the Vendé Espace, in Mouilleron-le-Captif in Vendée.
In barebow Gentlemen, Mikael Neret won the title of Departmental Champion despite mediocre qualifications. He straightened out the game in the duels and won brilliantly.
Nicolas Denis came out first in qualifying, but cracked in the small final by being 4th, the most difficult place.
Regional championship
However, given his constant and improving results in all the competitions in which he participated this indoor season, he can claim to be in the quota to participate in the Regional Championship on February 17, in Changé, in Mayenne. Laurent Carlin finished 5th, it was not his season.
In the Ladies’ barebow, obviously, we find the infernal duo in the final: Nathalie Bécu and Dominique Cochet.
Nathalie takes the lead leading 4/0, Dominique returns to 4/4, but at the decisive moment she releases a bad arrow and bows to Nathalie.

Nathalie retains her crown of Departmental Champion and Dominique that of vice-champion.
Three young archers from Sillé took part in the competition in their categories.
In the U18 men’s recurve arch, Romain Beauclair placed first with the added bonus of his broken personal record.
Just like Enzo Deshaies in compound arch in U21 who also established his best indoor score, ranking him among the best in the National ranking.
For Ladislas Denis it was less pleasant, because he retired following a shoulder injury.
We hope that he will be able to line up with his two friends next week at the Regional in Challans.
The “adults” Regional will take place on February 17 and 18. Then, we will have to think about outside shots.
Find out if the land made available by the municipality will be ready by the end of March.
Because time passes very quickly and without a field, there is no possibility of shooting at 50 and 70 meters, the national and international disciplines.
