Should the Houston Rockets Consider Trading Jalen Green?

7

The trade deadline reserves surprises every day like Jalen Green who could be considered tradeable for the Houston Rockets. The news is reported by Zach Lowe of ESPN who explains how the shooting guard second overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft is in the notebooks of the GMs of several teams. Green constitutes the core of the Rockets in these years of rebuilding. Yet, anyone can be traded if the right offer comes along that satisfies both teams.

Question arises spontaneously: The Rockets are better off trading Green Right now? The averages speak of a player in slight decline, who went from 22.1 points on average last year to 18.4 this season. The assists are 3.3 per game this year with 4.8 rebounds. After the appointment in the first quintet NBA All-Rookie, we haven’t seen too many glimpses of Green. Of course, the Rockets haven’t had great seasons in recent years either.

However, we are talking about a 21 year old boy, who despite having all the potential to continue growing, isn’t having the impact the Rockets were hoping for. Of the top four players chosen in the 2021 NBA draft, it’s easy to argue that Green is the worst of the bunch. Cade Cunningham it was probably the only strong point of a terrible season of the Detroit PistonsWhile Evan Mobley e Scottie Barnes they have become star players for Cleveland Cavaliers e Toronto Raptors, respectively.

The answer to the question is entirely in the hands of the Rockets. If in the team coached by Making Udoka have become disinterested in Green’s growth, it might be smart to keep his name floating around in potential trades as long as it’s convenient.
