Scandalous Violation of Basic Rights: President Vows to Appeal Unjust Decisions

“I am simply scandalized by what I witnessed this Thursday. It is a real scandal and the basic rights of the defense have been violated both in form and in substance. I have very little appreciation for the summary manner in which these obviously serious events were handled. First, at the level of the admissibility of the documents on which the incidents were judged. It is impossible to verify the admissibility of an arbitrator’s report. When I had the audacity to ask what the procedure was, I was rebuffed violently and I hardly accept it. But this is not the most serious because, throughout the evening, the defense’s words were barely listened to and, I maintain, there is a form of scandalous partiality. We believe the referees, their version of the facts and everything seems almost decided in advance. But I am not being cajoled like this and we have clearly decided to appeal these decisions and, if necessary, we will go to the courts. ”

Because several remarks made Xavier Mercier angry. “We were careful not to make a statement in the press but we were criticized for having communicated our hope of replaying the match. It is against basic freedom of expression. We stupidly handled this matter, without trying to understand its nuances or know the truth. So, I can understand that this instance is overloaded. I vigorously denounce the functioning of the disciplinary committee, it is a parody of justice, a tiny layer of varnish of democracy. ”
