Sarah Prieels Advances to Semi-Finals at Archery World Cup

The European record holder (591), who is 15th in the world, beat Iceland’s Anna Maria Alfredsdottir (WA 141) 140-136 in the round of 16.

Prieels will play her place in the semi-finals on Thursday morning (9:00 a.m.) against Amanda Mlinaric, 41st in the world, who was exempt from the round of 16 after finishing 3rd in the qualifying round on Tuesday. The 22-year-old Croatian, from Varazdin, is a double world champion in the youth categories in 2019 and 2021.

Sarah Prieels, 33, was crowned European outdoor champion in 2016 and finished 4th in 2022. She was eliminated in the round of 16 at the indoor Euro in 2022 in Lasko in Slovenia. The 2023 European Indoor Championships scheduled for Samsun in Turkey have been canceled due to the earthquake in the host country.
