Leave the field without straying too far from it. This was Sandy Maendly’s ambition when he put away his crampons. At 35, the Geneva footballer has succeeded in her bet. She has just been appointed sports director of Servette Football Club Chênois Féminin, her favorite team which she left and then returned to during a professional career which also led her to play 89 times for the national team.

Spotting talent, negotiating contracts and ensuring the integration of new recruits, from finding apartments to French lessons for non-French speakers, Sandy Maendly now assumes a strategic role within the Women’s Super League club. And the requests are not long in coming. During the interview, the door to his office, located behind the Praille stadium, kept opening. “Do you have time to have this young goalkeeper come for a test?” “When can we take stock of this matter?” The young woman in jeans and sneakers responds with a smile. For her, reconversion continues to rhyme with passion.
