The striker himself is not having a very successful season either. He has scored 15 goals. It started to look a bit better after the new year. Since then, he has found the net six times. – The beginning was difficult, and when I was getting into shape, I was out for a month due to an injury – he explained his worse performance in the first half of the season. – Since the new year, I have been feeling better and better physically. But we don’t win games by a few goals, games against Alaves (3:1) and Betis (4:2) were an exception. I saw statistics that show that we create the most chances in LaLiga – I don’t see it on the pitch. Such statistics distort the reality a bit, he added.
Lewandowski commented on Xavi’s decision. “I understand him”
Lewandowski was also asked how it is to play knowing that the current coach will leave the club after the season. Xavi announced this decision at the end of January. – It’s not easy (…) I don’t think what will happen or who will come. There are still some matches left to play. Xavi is from here, he is a monumental figure, a legend of the club. He surprised us with his decision, but he explained why he did it. We had to accept and understand, even though we know who Xavi was and will always be for Barcelona. I understand him as a person, he said.
FC Barcelona, apart from playing in the Spanish LaLiga, still has to fight in the Champions League. Next Wednesday, the Pole’s team will go to the 1/8-final match against Napoli (February 21, 9:00 p.m.). Earlier on Saturday, there will be an away match against Celta Vigo (February 17, 6:30 p.m.).
