Ried suffers his next defeat at Admira

Guntamtic Ried has suffered the next setback in the fight for promotion in the Admiral 2nd League. The Upper Austrians also lost their second game after the winter break with 2:3 (1:1) at Flyeralarm Admira on Sunday morning. The fourth-placed team is already 14 points behind leaders GAK. Due to Ried’s misery, the people of Graz can increasingly plan a return to the Bundesliga. The lead over the first pursuers FAC and DSV Leoben is 13 points with 13 laps to go.

The Rieders lost 2-0 at home against FAC at the start of the spring. The Bundesliga relegated team took the lead in the Südstadt through Wilfried Eza (18th). Lukas Malicsek headed from a corner (29th) and Filip Ristanic (64th) turned the game around. After Fabian Wohlmuth’s equalizer, who volleyed in from a free-kick cross (79th), it looked as if the Innviertel team would at least save a point. After an unfortunate handball by Wohlmuth, Albin Gashi scored from the penalty spot in stoppage time (94′).

With their second win of the spring, Admira moved up to eighth place in the table. The lead over the relegation zone is already comfortable at twelve points. The GAK won 3-0 against relegation candidate Dornbirn on Saturday.
