Rex Burkhead Announces Retirement from NFL Career after 10 Seasons

Selected in the sixth round of the 2013 draft out of Nebraska, Burkhead had 3,442 total yards and 26 touchdowns in his career.

The corridor Rex Burkhead announced his retirement from NFL this Monday, through a publication on their social networks.

“I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to play football for 26 years, and looking back, there are many people I would like to thank,” he wrote burkhead, proceeding to thank his parents; his wife, Danielle; her two children; his coaches; the owners of the clubs he played for and the support employees; his companions; and his fans.

burkhead33, played for three teams over 10 seasons, last appearing in a game of NFL in 2022.

He signed as a free agent with the New England Patriots in 2017 and set a personal record with eight touchdowns that season (five on the ground and three in receptions), and helped the franchise win a Super Bowl to culminate the 2018 campaign when he scored three touchdowns in that postseason. He finished his career with the Houston Texansafter signing with the team in 2021, setting a personal record in rushing yards that season, with 427.
