An allegation of domestic violence ended in a shooting in the American town of Burnsville, Minnesota, which left four people dead.

Local authorities detailed that two police officers and a paramedic lost their lives while responding to a complaint about a family in danger.

An office of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety revealed that the attacker also lost his life, and said it will provide more details when it completes its preliminary investigation.

According to the Pioneer Press newspaper, which cites police sources, officers went to a residence in the town of Burnsville to respond to a domestic violence call, and were involved in a shootout.

The Star Tribune, for its part, explains that the paramedic was hit by gunfire while trying to help one of the injured officers.

Minnesota Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar wrote in X that she learned about the incident from the police. “John (the senator’s husband) and I prayed for them, their families and the Burnsville Police Department this morning,” she wrote.

In addition, various police organizations and politicians in the state sent messages of support during the morning to the families of the victims on social networks.
