Red Sparks vs Indonesian National Volleyball Team Opens Proliga

Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo mentioned the team Red Sparks which is strengthened Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi will appear in the opening exhibition match Pro League 2024.

Dito announced the arrival of Daejeon Jung KwanJang Red Sparks to face the Indonesian volleyball national team in an Instagram upload on Thursday (15/2) evening.

“Indonesian Volleyball Lovers Get ready for a special moment! Happy to be able to video call @megawatihangestrip “Megatron” regarding the match plans for Daejeong JungKwanJang Red Sparks and the Indonesian National Volleyball Team, which will be the opening match of @proliga_official 2024.”

“This exhibition match is the result of a collaboration between @kemenpora and @lpduk.id (Sports Fund and Business Management Agency). LPDUK itself is a Public Service Agency (BLU) which is under the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with duties like venture capital in the sports sector. So, don’t miss it “This match is exciting,” wrote Dito on his personal Instagram account and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In the video, Dito also shows a short video of his conversation with Megawati about the arrival of Red Sparks to Indonesia.

“Mega will definitely be ready, because Mega is returning to Indonesia on the ninth. But as for friends, yes, all of those friends are ready,” said Mega in response to Dito who asked about Red Sparks’ readiness to go to Indonesia.

“We will make exciting exhibition games later,” said Dito.

Apart from talking to Megawati, Dito also had time to greet another Red Sparks player, Giovanna Milana.

“I don’t know 100 percent [apakah ke Jakarta?], but I really, really, really, really want to. “After this season is finished, we will see,” said Giovanna.

Rumors about the arrival of Red Sparks to Indonesia have been circulating for several weeks.

Proliga, which is the highest volleyball competition in Indonesia, will start on April 25 in nine cities and will be participated by 13 clubs. In its release, Proliga said it would hold regular season matches in Yogyakarta, Semarang, Palembang, Pontianak, Bandung, Gresik and Surabaya. Meanwhile the final four will take place in Kediri and Solo, and close in Yogyakarta on July 21.
