Record-breaking Turnout at National Kata Grand Prix “Dynamic Cup” Catania 2024

It was a record-breaking edition! With 52 couples the National Kata Grand Prix “Dynamic Cup” Catania 2024 marked the turnout record for the Sicilian stage reserved for kata, confirming the growth trend in numbers already highlighted in Leinì, on the occasion of the first Grand Prix of the year.

The satisfaction of the National Kata Commission is therefore legitimate, which finds positive feedback on the choices made, in particular for the presence of young athletes, who represent the future and generational change.

This competition was an opportunity to remember Giuseppe Guzzo, late Sicilian athlete, great judo enthusiast, who represented Italy in numerous international competitions and recently passed away.

Giovanni Strazzeri, in the presence of Giuseppe Guzzo’s family, Mrs. Maria and her daughter Alessandra, dedicated a special moment at the opening with a heartfelt and touching memory of Pippo, the name by which everyone knew him and always affectionately called him.

Furthermore, Mrs Maria and her daughter Alessandra carried out the award ceremonies. At the end of the National Grand Prix, the “Pippo Guzzo” Trophy was held on the Koshiki and Itsutsu no Kata, a race officially dedicated to the memory of Pippo. The next appointment is on March 23rd in Pordenone with the Italian stage of the EJU Kata Tournament and the following day with the third appointment of the National Grand Prix.

In the Zoppa Arena a Coneglianothe Grand Prix race reserved for the Senior-Junior classes was held and on this occasion too, the club that topped the rankings was Akiyama Settimo Torinese.

While waiting for the report on the race created by FIJLKAM Veneto, the scoreboards and classes of the 35th Trofeo Vittorio Veneto event are published.
