According to Izurieta and Ramirez, Lopez-Galvan has strong ties to Kansas City. They mentioned that her father established Mariachi Mexico, the city’s initial mariachi group, in the 1980s. The family is highly regarded and involved in the Latino community. On February 14th, Lisa Lopez-Galvan was among a group of approximately 24 individuals who were wounded by gunfire outside Union Station in the city. She was 43 years old.

Last week on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Beto Lopez stated in an interview, “This is yet another instance of a genuine and caring individual whose life was senselessly ended in a tragic act.”
