Testing positive for testosterone, the French footballer was suspended for four years, his club Juventus Turin said.

Paul Pogba’s future in football darkened considerably this Thursday with the announcement, not the Italian media, then the confirmation by Juventus Turin in the process, of the player’s suspension for four years. The verdict was pronounced by the Italian anti-doping prosecution. The international, aged 30, tested positive on August 20, 2023 after the Serie A match between Juventus and Udinese.

Provisionally suspended since this date, the 2018 world champion (91 caps) was waiting to appear before the anti-doping court after an initial postponement. The prosecution had requested a four-year suspension. At almost 31 years old, the end of the midfielder’s career, returning to Italy in 2022, seems closer than ever.

They are a Juventus club at dit «prendre acte» of the court’s decision, which followed the prosecution’s requisitions against the midfielder, in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code.
