Paolo Guerrero Commits to César Vallejo University, Will Stay and Play in Liga1-2024

Paolo Guerrero, who arrived in Peru last Tuesday from Brazil, defined his future after the various conversations he had with the leaders of the César Vallejo University (UCV) sports club. The footballer decided to stay and bet on the “Poeta” team from Trujillo.

According to RPP and Canal N, Guerrero will respect his contract and will play in Liga1-2024 with this club. In addition, it was learned that the athlete would join training as soon as possible.

Let us remember that the player arrived in Lima from Rio de Janeiro in order to finalize his position in said club, after his decision was overshadowed by the extortion messages that his mother, Mrs. Petronila González, received, which put the integrity of her family endangered.

This morning, Juan José Castro, lawyer and president of the Sports Law Association of Peru, analyzed the footballer’s situation and assured that at this stage what is best for both parties is to reach a “negotiation.”

“This meeting should have taken place by consensus and in person. It is not that virtuality is bad, however, in this situation and situation that both parties experience where there is a legally signed contract and in which article 1352 of the civil code indicates that contracts are perfected only by the consent of both parties from the moment of the celebration, it is better to deal with it face to face,” said the representative.

After reaching an agreement with the César Vallejo University, Paolo Guerrero will now live in the city of Trujillo with his girlfriend and his two youngest children.

Let us remember that a few days ago, it was learned that the Trujillo team made it clear that it rejected the resignation letter presented by Paolo Guerrero, since what they expected was to talk in person with the former captain of the soccer team.

“César Vallejo informed our player José Paolo Guerrero Gonzáles of the decision to reject his request for exemption from the legal deadline for his resignation, so the validity of the employment contract is maintained. By virtue of this, his presence has been required at our headquarters next Tuesday, February 20, proceeding to issue the respective plane ticket,” reads the statement from César Vallejo.
