ÖHV women won bronze at the European Indoor Championships

The Austrian hockey women won the bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Berlin. In the game for third place, coach Sven Lindemann’s team beat Spain 3-1.

Daria Buchta scored for Austria in the 25th minute, but Estel Hernandez (26th) equalized immediately. Fiona Felber (33rd) and Helene Herzog (39th/empty goal) were then successful. It is the first European Championship podium for the red-white-red women since 1998.

The Austrians also got their ticket for the 2025 World Cup, which required at least sixth place at the European Championships. Austria’s hockey men recently missed out on a European Championship medal in Leuven, Belgium, as defending champions in fourth place.
