Bolzano – The number one in the tennis world, Novak Djokovic, landed at Bolzano airport on Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. The tennis titan, who was recently overwhelmingly beaten by young star Jannik Sinner in the semifinals at the Australian Open, is on vacation in the South Tyrolean mountains, according to Alto Adige online. It should go towards the Dolomites, for example to the Seiser Alm or Val Gardena.

The “Joker” may have come to Jannik Sinner’s homeland to look for new approaches to stand up to the Sesto tennis ace at the next meeting. But that is pure speculation. In any case, tennis and sports fans were very happy about Djokovic’s arrival in South Tyrol. The tennis star willingly took selfies in the airport hall and on the apron before continuing on by car.

By the way, it is not the first time that Djokovic has come to South Tyrol for vacation. He is even considered a big lover of South Tyrol and has been here several years in a row. He was already spotted on the Seiser Alm in 2018. In 2019, the Serb himself made a vacation in South Tyrol and his family public on Twitter. At that time too, he was traveling in the Val Gardena/Seiser Alm area. A year later he was back in the Dolomite Val Gardena and sat in the ice-cold Val Gardena stream as part of training – for almost two minutes.

His rival Jannik Sinner is still in Rome and it is unclear when he will come back to South Tyrol. He explained that he deliberately did not come to his home village of Sesto after his greatest triumph because the village had been affected by a tragic accident.
