Dozens of young athletes from Nogales, from different clubs and categories, participated this Saturday in a selective archery event, with a view to the national competitions of the Conade games, with the support of the government of Nogales and the municipal sports institute.
Israel Gómez, coach of one of the groups that have represented the border at the national and international level, with several representatives in world categories, explained that Nogales, with this, positions itself as one of the direct references in the tournaments that are held this way. discipline in all sporting strata.
“It has several objectives, one is sports training, for our athletes who are going to go to the state championship and some of them to the national Conade, so this is very similar to a professional event, in fact it is being done professionally.”, he mentioned.
Among the participants were young people who have obtained runners-up world championships and three of them are among the first 10 best prospects in the world, who share experiences and competition, with all those new talents who are pushing at the forefront for our country.
“Right now there are 25 goalkeepers participating, from three different clubs, brands are managed and depending on whether you can attend a national team, you have to meet the brand and be within the top 3 in your category, to be able to be chosen as the Sonora team. So some of them are working for marks and others are working. It is a score but a winning score, to be in the elite of the national archers.”, he indicated.
He mentioned that Nogales is the city that has the most elite-level archers in the Sonora team and it is common for those from the border to be part of those who represent our country at the international level, so this sport, regardless of category or level, on the border It is high performance.
