Nicholas Jarry: A Bumpy Road to the Argentina Open Final

The Chilean tennis player Nicholas Jarry21st in the ATP ranking, fell this Sunday in the final of the Argentina Open (Buenos Aires)after losing 3-6 and 4-6 against the local Facundo Diaz (87°).

Thus, the national player closed a positive week on trans-Andean soil, where he added great victories against the Swiss Stan Wawrinka (former 3rd in the world) and Spanish Carlos Alcaraz (2°).

But they were also hard days for ‘Nico’ off the field, since the Argentine public was quite hostile to the Chilean in his matches -especially against Wawrinka and Alcaraz-.

Due to the above, the ‘Prince’ was asked about the reception of the fans and, far from the expected response, he appreciated the bad vibes of the fans.

“Thank you to all the organizers of this tournament, to all the volunteers we have inside and outside the dressing rooms, to the ball runners, to the cancheros, to the sponsors and, of course, to all the public who make it more entertaining,” Jarry said.

“It makes it more exciting and, thanks to you, we can be here playing and living this beautiful sport that is tennis.”. Thanks to everyone who came and a little more to the Chileans who put up with me all week,” added the 21st in the world.

Along the same lines, Nicolás Jarry appreciated that “it was a nice week, so thank you for the effort. We’re starting a new project, so it’s nice to start this way. To my entire team, who is not here, who is watching me in Europe, and my family who always supports me and is the fundamental, main pillar of my career, of my strength.”
