MLB The Show 24 officially releases on March 19, 2024 for Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with pre-orders for the game currently available. The standard edition of the game for current generation consoles will include five The Show packs and 5,000 Stubs. The Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One Standard editions will cost $59.99, with the PS5 and Xbox X/S versions costing $69.99. MLB The Show will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on release day. MLB The Show 24 will also have a collector’s edition, with more details released on February 6.
Those who purchase the digital edition of MLB The Show 24 on older generation consoles can upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S version for $10.
MLB The Show 24 will be cross-progression and will also support cross-platform play, so users on all consoles can compete against each other. Additionally, all of MLB The Show 23’s custom stadiums and logos will be available in loot boxes when the game launches. Unfortunately, there will be no pre-launch testing to allow users to try out the game before release. Important to note that Stadium Creator will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

This year’s MLB The Show 24 cover athlete is Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays. Guerrero Jr. made his MLB debut in 2019 and is the son of Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, who was the 2006 MLB cover athlete. Road to the Show is more about an individual player’s career, while Franchise mode takes teams to the World Series.

As is tradition, people can expect new legendary players, with 2023’s legendary players giving a good indication that 2024 could be stacked. While information is currently quite scarce and it remains to be seen whether MLB The Show 2024 will be better than previous years, one can hope that the developers have taken what made 2023 so great and made it better.
