Minnesota Timberwolves Extend Mike Conley Jr.’s Contract for $21 Million

Mike Conley Jr. and the Timberwolves agreed to a two-year, $21 million contract extension.

The deal keeps Conley, an important stabilizing presence in the Western Conference’s No. 1 spot, out of summer free agency and under contract through the 2025-2026 season.

Conley has played a immense role in the Timberwolves’ rise to the Western Conference elitereaching a deal with the Utah Jazz at the trade deadline in February 2023. He instantly provided leadership and consistent point guard play to a team desperate for it.

Conley met with Rudy Gobert in Minnesota and helped bring together the considerable talents of Anthony Edwards, Karl Anthony-Towns and Gobert himself.. The Timberwolves are 37-13 when Conley plays this season and 2-3 when he is out.

Conley is shooting a career-high 44% from 3-point range this season. He also posted an effective field goal percentage of 59%., the best of his career. Conley also ranks second in assists and turnovers in the league, behind only Washington’s Tyus Jones.
