In total, subsidies have been granted to seven sports entities, for an amount of 27,965 euros.

This call will make it possible to promote some projects aimed at athletes with disabilities that are already being carried out by Huelva clubs, such as the CD Los Palitos (San Juan del Puerto), swimming and athletics aimed at people with intellectual disabilities, the CD Bádminton Huelva, which has been developing the ‘Badminton without Barriers Project’ for several years, with the participation of wheelchair shuttler Francisco Motero, recent European DX champion, in the qualification process to represent us at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

«New projects may also be promoted, such as the Huelva Adapted Sports Club, promoting boccia among athletes with cerebral palsy, supporting the practice of CD Ciudad de Huelva, chess for blind athletes and those with some physical disability; canoeing for athletes with disabilities in the CD Náutico Punta Umbría; or horse riding adapted to people with physical and/or sensory disabilities in the Equs Caballus CD (Villalba del Alcor), as we are seeing today,” added Herrera.

The call is articulated within the framework of recognition and respect for the right of people with disabilities to enjoy measures that guarantee their access to the practice of sport under equal conditions and is justified due to the public interest of the activities carried out by the clubs. sports that have athletes with some type of disability, by establishing measures that allow the acquisition of sports material and equipment that contributes to promoting the corresponding sports modalities within the Autonomous Community and, consequently, to the promotion of sports practice. among citizens who have some type of disability.
