Morning everyone.
Suffering from a dose of the midweek blues? Well, rest assured we have just the tonic – football, football and more football.
Last night saw three FA Cup fourth-round replays so we will reflect on those matches as Leeds, Southampton and Coventry all came through in convincing fashion.
This evening Aston Villa host Chelsea in their fourth-round replay with fans of both sides doubtless hoping it will not be a repeat of last month’s 0-0 stalemate at Stamford Bridge.
So there will be plenty of build-up to that match at Villa Park and Nottingham Forest’s fixture with Bristol City in tonight’s other fourth-round replay.
We should have the opportunity to take a closer look at Manchester United’s plans to redevelop Old Trafford at some stage.
Then there’s the small matter of the Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals as Nigeria face South Africa and hosts Ivory Coast face DR Congo to look forward to as well.
We will also cast an eye towards the weekend’s Premier League fixtures and keep you abreast of any transfer news which might come our way.
