Men’s World Cup Slalom in Bansko Cancelled Due to Bad Weather, Frenchman Clément Noël holds best time

The organizers finally had to resolve to cancel the men’s World Cup slalom in Bansko. Bad weather conditions are to blame.

The first round was interrupted after the passage of 31 competitors, while the rain became more and more intense. The decision to cancel the race was taken half an hour ago.

It was the Frenchman Clément Noël who set the best time with bib number 2, Loïc Meillard having placed 4th with number 3. The first eight starters had also achieved the eight best times on a track which had, as we could fear him very quickly marked.

Avoid a complete lottery in the 2nd round

The conditions for the second round thus promised to be even more complicated than a week earlier in Chamonix, where Daniel Yule had won after opening the ball in the second round. The deterioration of the weather ultimately prevented a new lottery from being held.

Four slaloms should still be on the season’s program if the one in Bansko is not caught, the next at Palisades Tahoe on February 25. The Austrian Manuel Feller leads the discipline rankings with 164 points ahead of Linus Strasser and 205 over Daniel Yule, who is in 3rd place.
