Maximilian Mittelstädt: From Mimicking Ronaldo to Chasing His National Team Dream

Now he wants the MAXImum!

With outstretched arms and a broad chest, Maximilian Mittelstädt (26) celebrated his second goal in a row in the 3-1 win against Mainz in the style of world star Cristiano Ronaldo (39). While his Portuguese idol is the world’s most capped player with 205 appearances, Mittelstädt is still waiting for his first appearance in the DFB team.

With a view to the home European Championships in 2024, Mittelstädt admits: “It would be a dream to be able to play for the national team.” According to BILD information, there has not yet been any contact with national coach Julian Nagelsmann (36).

Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß (41): “Of course he should dream, he can do that too. Since Maxi has been healthy, he has been playing at a consistently high level. He defends in a disciplined manner, is tactically good, and presents himself outstandingly forward. The boy is really fun.”

After his dream lob to win in Freiburg (3-1), Mittelstädt scored impressively with his left foot against Mainz and has scored just as often in the last two league games as in 162 previous appearances.
