Maxim De Cuyper Overcomes Whiplash to Make Club Brugge’s Selection for Match Against Union

Maxim De Cuyper is part of Club Brugge’s selection for the match in the Jan Breydel Stadium against Union.

De Cuyper seemed unavailable after a hard fall on Sunday in the lost competition top match at Antwerp (2-1). On Monday, Club Brugge announced that a hospital examination had revealed whiplash.

He was not expected in the selection for the first leg of the semi-finals of the Croky Cup against Union. The 23-year-old De Cuyper scored the only Bruges goal on Sunday at the Bosuil.

Club cannot count on midfielder Hugo Vetlesen on Wednesday, who suffered a muscle tear in the adductor muscle on Sunday, and winger Philip Zinckernagel, who received a serious kick to the Achilles tendon.

Antonio Nusa also remains absent. The Norwegian top talent is getting some rest after a transfer to Premier League club Brentford fell through last week.
