Mathilde Gros bronze medalist in individual speed in Adelaide

Mathilde Gros didn’t go to the Antipodes for nothing. This Saturday, the Frenchwoman won the bronze medal in the individual speed event after dominating the New Zealander Andrews Ellesse in two rounds during the first round of the Nations Cup on the track held in Adelaide, Australia.

Second time in qualifying, the former 2022 world champion in the discipline then passed the various rounds without incident before being beaten in the semi-final by the German Emma Hinze, final winner of the tournament ahead of the Japanese Mina Sato.

The other French sprinters entered experienced varying fortunes since Marie-Divine Kouamé was eliminated in the round of 16 by the British Emma Finucane, while Julie Michaux was eliminated in the 16th finals and the young Marie-Louisa Drouode did not pass the qualification threshold.
