Luis Alvarez Joins San Marino Baseball as Catcher from Titan

San Marino Baseball officially announces the arrival on Titan of Luis Alvarez, a Venezuelan catcher born in 1990 who turns 34 today, February 28th.

The player, who grew up in the Houston Astros organization for the seasons in the Rookie League, Single A and Double A, has already had the opportunity to tread the Italian diamonds since 2015, the year in which he made his debut in Padua. For him an average of 276 in the box with 16 points batted at home, then numbers that definitely grew in the following season, again with the Venetian jersey (349 batting average). In 2017 he moved to Novara (279 with 19 rbi), while in 2019 he moved to Nettuno City (465 and 15).

In recent seasons, and also in the offseason of those played in Italy, he has been a protagonist in the Venezuelan winter league. From 2014 to 2016 with the Cardenales de Lara, from 2017 to 2021 with the Aguilas del Zulia and from then on with the Navegantes del Magallanes. Finally, in 2023-2024 he wore the Tigres de Aragua shirt.

Alvarez will be the second foreigner on the team along with Quevedo, with whom he has already played in the Astros organization and with Padova.

In 2024 he will be the catcher of San Marino Baseball and we give him the warmest welcome.
