The coach of basketball world champion Daniel Theis has to pay a fine of 35,000 US dollars. The NBA justified the decision on Friday with statements from Tyronn Lue after the Clippers’ victory two days earlier at the Golden State Warriors. After the 130-125 scoreline, when he was ejected by the referees in the final quarter, Lue was filmed saying: “Where are the refs now? Cheating. That’s all they did.” He also said he wanted to “kick one of the referees in the mouth”.

The Clippers are currently one of the strongest teams in the league and are considered one of the candidates for the championship. Theis, who was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Clippers during the season, did not play in the game in San Francisco.
