Kevin Ollie Named Interim Head Coach of Brooklyn Nets

After officially announcing the dismissal of Jacques Vaughn as head coach of the Nets, the New York franchise would have already found his replacement, and that would be none other than Kevin Ollie, formerly of the University of Uconn and technical assistant since June 23, 2023, reported the outlet’s Adrian Wojnarowski ESPN.

Ollie will lead his first training session tomorrow, Tuesday, as interim coach, and on Thursday he will lead the Nets bench in their match against Darko Rajakovic’s Toronto Raptors.

A native of Dallas and 51 years old, Ollie was left out of the 1995 Draft, but this did not prevent him from finding a place in the NBA from 1997 until his retirement in OKC in 2010.

After hanging up his boots, he was an assistant coach at Uconn between 2010 and 2012 and was later promoted to head coach from 2012 to 2018 with a record of 97-79 in six NCAA campaigns.
